Katie was born in Johnson City, New York, but relocated frequently for her parents’ careers so she has lived in many places across the East Coast and abroad. However, she has been in Charlottesville for four years and decided that this is the place that she is going to settle and make “home”. She received a BA in Biology and English from Wake Forest University. After working as an Administrator at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital, she went back to school to obtain her BSN in Nursing. For several years, she worked as an inpatient RN on a general pediatrics and heme onc floor. In 2015, she graduated with her Master’s in Nursing from The University of Virginia and has been working for the past 2.5 years as an FNP seeing patients of all ages at a Family Practice. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and is a member of Sigma Theta Tau, a Nursing honor society. Her particular interests are preventative health, anxiety/ depression, and women’s health.
In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two year old daughter, and two pups. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, going for walks, and spending time with friends.
